Want to take a journey around the moon?
For $100 million dollars, Space Adventures can make that happen.
The Space Adventures team has designed a circumlunar mission using a unique combination of existing and flight tested Russian technology. This mission builds on space technology originally developed for manned lunar missions, and has been flown over decades as part of the world’s most successful human spaceflight program.
The first private expedition to the moon. This $200m effort, which sells at $100m per seat, marks an unprecedented reduction in cost, with increased safety, of any previous manned lunar effort.

i made the mistake of actually teasing myself by going through the space adventures website. i even went as far as emailing them, asking for more information. who the hell has $100 million dollars lying around? much less to spend on a rocket ship to space? i tell you though, if i DID have $100 million… it’d be hard not to go.
Space Travel needs to be affordable.

Moon Tourism by 2020, Entrepreneurs Predict
Leading space entrepreneurs said they are ready, willing and able to fill the U.S. spaceflight gap after NASA retires its space shuttles this year. They confidently predicted that commercial spaceships could fly both cargo and humans into low-Earth orbit for lower cost and by about 2014, or at least sooner than NASA’s original plan based on the now-canceled Constellation program.
The space industry executives hailed the Obama administration’s proposal to devote $6 billion over the next five years toward commercial spaceflight. It opens the door for potential trips to the moon on commercial vehicles, they added.
That “historic decision” could create an estimated 5,000 jobs in the United States and help NASA avoid paying billions of dollars to Russia for rides to the space station, said Bretton Alexander, president of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation, during a Monday teleconference. Still, Alexander and others took time to address one of the main doubts in the minds of critics — whether commercial spaceflight can provide safe access to space.

SpaceShipTwo - ROLL-OUT. HD1080p Video by “a guy I know”
The real debut of SpaceShipTwo at an event for dignitaries and future astronauts in Mojave, California, USA on 07 December 2009. Virgin Galactic unveiled Space-Ship Two after development for the past two years. This HD video shows the vessel showing up in the freezing desert of Mojave. It was so cold with the wind that I had my hands frozen holding the camera… We had wonderful weather the days before, but this Monday was strangely rainy, windy, snowy, and the event finished by a storm so we had to evacuate the place before the end of the event leaving our personal belongings in one of the tent. The tents then were blown up and destroyed at 8:15 PM by the heavy wind. The last bus could not take the road and had to stay due to gusts. Today, Tuesday we again have a wonderful bright sunny quiet day… Maybe someone not happy upper there…
